Shetland Ewes

Our flock of Shetland sheep were specifically bred to produce high quality wool and have show-worthy conformation. They are all registered (or elgible for registration) with the National Shetland Sheep Breeders Association AND the Fine Fleeced Shetland Sheep Breeders Association. The Fine Fleeced Shetland Sheep Breeders Association (FFSSA) was created to distinguish shetland sheep with average wool from those that produce high quality, super soft, low micron wool as there is a lot of variation in the quality of shetland sheep conformation and wool.  We are very proud of our sheep and excited to see what they produce this spring.

If you are interested in a show-quality shetland lamb with beautiful fleece and friendly demeanor, please do not hesitate to contact us! Our deposit fee is $50- this amount goes 100% towards purchase price and is completely refundable if we do not have exactly what you are looking for in the spring. Deposits are taken in the order received. We do offer some transportation (for an additional price)- if you may be interested in this option, we would be happy to discuss it with you!

Sandy is our biggest ewe, and she is a sweetheart! She grows a long-stapled, lustrous fleece which is always popular with fiber artists. She's also a great mom and has produced some top notch lambs, including Helen, who was the champion lamb at MASS 2024.

Blackberry Blossom Farm Viola

Dual registered with FFSSA and NASSA

Color- White

DOB: 4/4/21

Reg # (FFSSA)- 3884

Sire: Under the Son Mancera

Dam: Glen Tamarack Kringla

Viola has been such a blessing to us. In my eyes, she is the ideal ewe. She has beautiful fleece that is extremely fine and crimpy, and super soft. Her conformation is very correct: wide, sturdy build, straight hocks, short and wide tail, with nice wool on poll. She also has the sweetest personality and loves attention, but can definitely be a goofball! She's our resident "tail wagger" whenever you pet her :)

Fleece color- Registered as moorit, turning fawn

DOB- 4/12/15

Manja is one of those ewes that you just can't help but love: she is very sweet and friendly, and never problematic in the flock. Her fleece is currently graded as Premium grade 2 with FFSSA. Even as the oldest ewe in the flock, she consistently produces a lovely, cocoa brown fleece. Manja is retired now and is loving the extra food rations!

Ruby

Blackberry Blossom Farm Ruby

Dual registered with NASSA and FFSSA

Color: Black

DOB: 4/4/21

Reg #: 3885 (FFSSA)

Sire: Under the Son Mancera

Dam: Glen Tamarack Kringla

Kringla sure outdid herself this spring, because Ruby is such a beautiful ewe, just like her sister Viola! She has lovely fleece that is very soft and crimpy, and a unique solid true black color. (As opposed to the more common "shetland" blueish-black color) She also has correct, elegant conformation. At first, Ruby was a fairly shy ewe, but she has definitely warmed up to us and now loves attention! Her fleece is also much cleaner now than in the pictures since we put her coat on ;)

Mirabelle

Glen Tamarack Mirabelle

Dual registered with NASSA and FFSSA

Color: Musket

DOB: 4/24/17

Sire: WhitePine Agno

Dam: Glen Tamarack Talitha

When we picked up our first 4 shetlands from Terry and Russ Dukerschein, Mirabelle was the first to greet us. She caught my attention because of her sweetness but she wasn't available at that time. Fast forward a few years, we were able to bring her and another ewe here! She's such a friendly girl and has consistently produced beautiful fleeces. She has great conformation to boot and has won several awards at the Mid-American Shetland Show:

-Reserve Champion Ewe 2019

-Grand Champion Shetland at the 2020 virtual show

-Champion Ewe 2021

Bitsy Wren

Glen Tamarack Bitsy Wren

Dual registered with NASSA and FFSSA

Color- Musket

DOB- 4/18/21

Sire- Inse Enoki

Dam- Glen Tamarack Talitha

Bitsy is one of our most "well-rounded" ewes. She has beautiful fleece, strong conformation, and rare bloodlines on her sire's side. She came to our farm with Mirabelle and they certainly look alike! Bitsy was actually a triplet, but she has quickly caught up in size and confidence!

Greta

Blackberry Blossom Farm Greta

Dual registered with NASSA and FFSSA

Color- Spotted ag grey

DOB- 4/17/23

Sire- Under the Son Mancera

Dam- Glen Tamarack Gussalyn

Greta radiates grace: she's calm, well behaved (mostly), is an excellent mother, and has such a beautiful face! We retained her because she's out of our beloved Gussie, but also because of her conformation, long staple crimpy fleece, and of course that spotting! She consistently produces large fleeces and has done well when shown. (2nd place ewe lamb at MASS 2023, out of a huge class!)

Color- Grey katmoget (with intensity)

DOB- 4/1/24

Sire- Under the Son Mancera

Dam- Glen Tamarack Sandpiper

Helen is the first grey katmoget we've had on the farm, and we couldn't be happier to have her! She has stunning dark grey fleece and show-worthy conformation. She's one of the shyer sheep, but has behaved well enough in the show ring to earn some awards!

Alice

Registered with NASSA and provisionally registered with FFSSA

Color- Moorit with white spots on her face and leg

DOB- 4/3/24

Sire- Glen Tamarack Hoisin

Dam- Emancipation Manja

It was so exciting for us when Alice was born! We were really hoping for a ewe lamb out of Manja, and we'd never had a moorit ewe lamb before, let alone a spotted one! Since then, Alice has flourished. She's grown into a beautiful ewe with super crimpy fleece and a big personality.

Vera

Blackberry Blossom Farm Vera

Dual registered with NASSA and FFSSA

Color- white with dark grey spot on her forehead

DOB- 4/16/23

Sire- White Pine Porcini

Vera thinks she is more a person than a sheep! She's a sweetie and likes being by her humans. She grows a beautiful, fine fleece just like her mom, and has a refined, feminine look.

Oconto

Glen Tamarack Oconto

Dual registered with NASSA and FFSSA

Color- white

DOB- 5/3/22

Sire- Inse Enoki

Dam- Glen Tamarack Zella

Oconto is our sturdiest, strongest-built ewe. She consistently raises big, strong lambs while keeping excellent body condition. Plus, she has beautiful, silky fleece with bold, "french-fry" crimp. Oconto carries a very rare bloodline for shetlands on her dad's side. She's also extremely sweet and adores attention and scratches.

Annabel

Blackberry Blossom Farm Annabel

Provisionally registered with FFSSA

Color- black with white spots on face, tail and back feet

DOB- 4/18/25

Sire- Linden Lane Thunderegg

Dam- Glen Tamarack Oconto

Annabel is a fancy girl and she knows it! She has great conformation, as would be expected looking at both her parents. She's growing in a jet black fleece with wonderful handle and "feel".

Nina

Linden Lane Nina AI

Registered with NASSA (FFSSA registration pending her sire's registration)

Color- fawn katmoget

DOB- 3/30/25

Sire- Smali Knight (UK ram)

Dam- Under the Son Murex

We picked Nina up at WSWF this year, and we are blessed to have her! She has, in my opinion, one of the prettiest shetland facial profiles I've ever seen. She's growing in a super fine, long stapled fleece, too. Nina did great at WSWF 2025:

2nd place ewe lamb out of a huge, competitive class (about 30 lambs!)
